Who We Are

At Gidgee Health Collective, our mission is to provide quality, personalised intervention to support all aspects of communication and feeding, through holistic thinking and a client centred approach, always.

We’re located on Wiradjuri land in the heart of Central West NSW, and we’re proud to serve the vibrant community of Dubbo and its surrounds.

We offer a range of services, including telehealth and mobile services, to ensure that our clients have access to the care they need, when they need it.

We believe that healthcare is a collaborative process, and we work closely with our clients to develop personalised plans that meet their unique needs and goals. At Gidgee, we are more than just a healthcare provider - we are a community that is committed to building strong and impactful relationships with our clients and creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.

Our team includes two experienced speechies and two fabulous AHA/Admin/General Magic Makers, spread across NSW and QLD - we are all about having the right people on our team, regardless of location.

To get a feel for Gidgee and what we are about, we recommend having a cheeky stalk on Instagram. You can find us @gidgeespeech, and we recommend the story highlights for peak ‘behind the scenes’ info.

What we offer

  • At Gidgee, we know that work isn't the most important thing (a wild idea, we know). We are proud to be flexible, clinician lead, and the best place to work. We will work with you to build the role that YOU want (which is going to be different to the role that another speechie wants!)

We will work with you to slowly build up your caseload, streamlining your clinical interests and working with you to build a schedule that works best for you. Our goals are for you to feel confident in your role, and satisfied at the end of each day.

You might prefer to start and finish early, or maybe you're not a morning person (*raises hand*). You might like to have a chunk of time for admin in the middle of the day, or have your clients evenly spaced throughout the day.

You might have a regular gym class that you want to pop out to on a Tuesday, or prefer to have an admin day each week, so you can dive into reports and work from home in your jammies.

Depending on your preferences, we have potential for mobile, clinic or telehealth based services, as well as outreach to surrounding communities (We love Trangie for a sneaky trip to Peggy and Twig, and Narromine for their orange juice!)

How much you travel is up to you, and the kind of caseload you have. If you prefer to stay in one place, we will aim for clinic based and less outreach, if you're passionate about supporting rural kids and love a road trip, we will work with you to make that happen!

Side Note: If you're thinking to yourself “This sounds like a dream role, but I can't uproot and move at the moment!” - get in touch. There's potential for Gidgee outposts anywhere in Australia!

We value your input and feedback, and we’re committed to creating an environment that fosters growth and collaboration. You have the flexibility to make this role your own and shape the impact you have on the lives of little people and their families.

Long story short - let's work out what you want, so that we can build a role that you love!

  • We get it, talking about money can be awkward! BUT we believe it's really important to have all the details, and we want you to have all of the information before making a decision about a role with us. We offer full and part time roles, and the following is based on a full time position.

    • Base Salary - we offer a base salary of 70-95k (depending on your level of experience).

    • Superannuation - All employees receive super, in addition to their base salary.

    • Holidays - Typical full time roles include 4 weeks of annual leave. At Gidgee. we offer an additional week of paid leave over our Christmas / New Years shut down period. We usually use this time to eat our body weight in ham and spend as much time as possible in a body of water.

    • Bonus $$ - Once you're finished onboarding, keen beans who see a couple of additional clients will be eligible for a bonus.

    • Coffee and Cake Budget - Sometimes, we want a little treat. We figure you might too. Need we say more?

    • SPA Conference - Travel, accommodation and ticket to the 2025 SPA Conference (we just really want to go to Adelaide, ok?)

You might also be eligible for some pretty impressive grants (perks of being rural!) These include:

    • Relocation Grant - Up to 5k, if you're moving from a bigger town for the role.

    • PD Scholarship - Up to 10k per year!!

Other things we supply include: All clinical resources (including stickers, which are VERY important), assessments, laptop, e-sim, resource allowance (to get the perfect game for that client who loves unicorns!), heaps of supervision (see below), professional development allowance and paid PD days.

  • We strongly believe in supporting our people clinically and personally, so that they can do what they do best! Teach a man to fish, and all that.

We provide daily operational and clinical supervision during onboarding, and move to at least weekly ongoing supervision when you're ready. Our speechies have more than 30 years experience between us, and are all generalist paed speechies with a passion for clinical excellence.

We provide unlimited informal supervision in house, and have a budget for external supervision too, so that you have access to a range of allied health professionals, with expertise in a range of clinical areas.

Professional development is based on your caseload and interests - you get to choose!
